"High School Confidential" is a song written by Jerry Lee Lewis and Ron Hargrave and released in 1958. The song was the title song of the movie of the same name starring Russ Tamblyn, Mamie Van Doren, and Jerry Lee Lewis. The track appeared on the 1984 Rhino Records collection 18 Original Sun Greatest Hits.

The song was released as a Sun single, Sun 296, backed with "Fools Like Me" in 1958 and reached No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100, No. 9 on the country chart, No. 5 on the R & B chart, and No. 12 on the British pop charts.[1] The single was also certified Gold by the RIAA.[2]
